Changes to MyTravel Airways check-in at Manchester Airport

Passengers on MyTravel Airways flights leaving from Manchester Airport are being advised that the airline's check-in desk will be in a new location from April 11.

The airline's desks will be moved from the ground floor to the main check-in hall on level 5 of Terminal 1. Passengers are asked to follow signs for Terminal 1 Departures, enter the main check-in hall through "Door 3" and follow the signs for MyTravel check-in.

MyTravel tops charter airline punctuality survey

MyTravel Airways is the most punctual UK charter airline, according to the Air Transport Users Council (AUC).

According to the AUC's delay league table for the summer 2006 season, just 5.4 per cent of MyTravel's flights were delayed for more than one hour, compared to 8.5 per cent in 2005 and 12.7 in 2004. The average delay experienced by MyTravel passengers last year was 14.1 minutes.

AUC chairman Tina Tietjen praised the airline, calling its punctuality improvement "a commendable achievement" and saying it "is again setting the benchmark for other carriers this year".

MyTravel begins China package tours

People wanting to save money on their trips to the Far East will benefit from new package tours to China, to be run by UK tour operator MyTravel.

The Manchester-based company said its Airtours operation would begin selling the tours, to the beach resort of Sanya on the tropical island of Hainan, from next week.

Sanya is notable as being the venue for the last three Miss World finals.

MyTravelLite to become MyTravel Airways

MyTravelLite will operate under a new name from the end of this month as part of a major overhaul of operations at the airline.

At present, MyTravelLite operates scheduled flights from Birmingham to popular European destinations, but this is poised to change.

Starting on November 1, the low-cost airline will be called MyTravel Airways, and will operate as a charter airline.

The new airline will offer flights from 22 UK airports, including London Gatwick, Belfast and Nottingham East Midlands to destinations in Europe, North America, Africa and the Caribbean.

MyTravelLite breaks punctuality records

MyTravelLite broke its punctuality records during the last week of July, with all of its flights leaving on time.

The Birmingham-based budget airline has a good reputation for timekeeping and was the most punctual airline flying from Birmingham International Airport in June, when 85 per cent of its flights left on time.

The news will be welcomed by passengers, as it means less hanging around at the airport, especially as it comes during the height of the holiday season.

MyTravelLite offers more flights this autumn

British no-frills airline MyTravelLite will offer passengers a wider choice of flights and destinations from November this year.

The airline currently offers cheap flight deals from Birmingham International Airport to ten Spanish holiday destinations as well as Faro, in the Portuguese Algarve region.

From November 1, 2005, MyTravelLite will expand to offer passengers flights from a large number of airports in the UK.
