14 new summer routes announced by easyJet
January 6, 2009 Low-cost carrier easyJet has announced the addition of 14 new routes to its summer 2009 schedule. Nine of the new flights will depart from UK regional airports, while the remainder will take off from European bases such as Paris and Berlin.
Ticket prices for the new routes will begin at just £22.99, which will include taxes and charges. Andy Harrison, chief executive of easyJet, said that the new routes should prove popular with both leisure and business travellers.
He commented: "We are proud to keep growing in Liverpool and Manchester, where we will base additional aircraft that will boost the local economy, create much needed jobs and give even more destinations at our famously low fares."
The airline also revealed that it will be basing new aircraft at two UK airports this year. Liverpool will have additional aircraft from June 1, while more planes will be available at Manchester from August 4. A selection of the newly announced routes is listed below.
