Bmibaby unveils Midlands to Menorca route
December 4, 2008 Bmibaby has revealed that it will be operating a summer route to Menorca from East Midlands Airport.
The budget carrier will offer passengers services to the Spanish island from just £41.99 one way, including taxes and charges, from May 22 until October 24, 2009.
Flights will be operated three times a week on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and bmibaby has forecasted that it will carry close to 20,000 passengers during this period.
Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, said: "Menorca is currently not served by any other low cost airline from East Midlands Airport, so by launching this new route we are offering customers a unique summer destination at fantastically low fares."
During the summer of 2009 bmibaby will operate services to 14 destinations from East Midlands Airport, including Alicante, Amsterdam, Belfast International, Edinburg, Faro, Glasgow International, Nice and Paris.
East Midlands Airport is owned by Manchester Airports Group and it transported more than five million passengers to a variety of locations in 2007.
