Air Asia announces Stansted to Kuala Lumpur route
November 25, 2008Air Asia X has confirmed that it will launch a route from London Stansted Airport to Kuala Lumpur in March 2009.
The Malaysian low-cost airline will offer fares beginning from £99 each way in economy and £549 each way in premium for services operating five times a week.
Passengers will be flown in a brand new Airbus A340 aircraft, which has a capacity of 286 with leather seats, spacious cabins and hot meals.

Air Asia X, which is partly owned by Richard Branson, already flies to the Gold Coast, Perth and Melbourne in Australia and Hangzhou in China.
Nick Barton, Stansted's commercial and development director, believes that this route is destined to be popular with both business and leisure passengers.
He said: "This is not only exciting news for Stansted but a significant milestone for low-cost, long-haul air travel around the world ... we're delighted Air Asia X recognises the growth potential here and selected Stansted as [its] UK gateway."
