EasyJet moves in on defunct XL routes
September 23, 2008EasyJet has added three flights to Spain and Turkey in a bid to fill the void created by the collapse of XL Airways.
The low-cost carrier is running extra services from Gatwick airport to Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Dalaman in Turkey - all on top if its standard links to those destinations.
On October 2, a flight to Arrecife in Tenerife will depart from Gatwick at 7.15am, arriving at 11.25am. The return service leaves at 12.20pm and will touch down in Gatwick at 4.20pm.
An extra early morning flight to Las Palmas in Gran Canaria leaves Gatwick on October 6 at 6.20am, touching down at 10.35am. Its return journey leaves at 11.20am and arrives at Gatwick at 3.15pm.
Also on October 6, an extra flight to the Turkish resort of Dalaman departs Gatwick at 7.15am and arrives at 1.15pm. The return journey takes off at 2pm and reaches Gatwick at 4.15pm.
Confirming the new flights, an easyJet spokesman said: "The additional seats are in response to a lack of available seats between the UK and these key holiday destinations."
