New Gatwick to Salzburg route from easyJet
August 8, 2008
EasyJet has launched a brand new service from London Gatwick Airport to the Austrian city of Salzburg.
The new connection will begin on December 13 - just in time for the winter skiing season - and easyJet says it hopes to carry more than 16,000 passengers on the route.
Fares start from just £32.99 one-way, including tax, and flights will be operated three times weekly.
Announcing the new route on the low-cost carrier's website, airline spokesman David Osborne said: "We expect Salzburg to be popular with passengers seeking both a city break away or a great ski destination for those looking to hit the slopes."
He continued: "EasyJet has more flights to the snow from Gatwick this winter than any other airline - and Salzburg joins other popular ski destinations such as Geneva, Sofia, Lyon and flights to Innsbruck."
The no-frills carrier last month predicted that the rising cost of oil will force many operators to raise their fares.
