Weekly news round-up

Several new routes have been announced over the past week, in addition to a number of time-limited special offers.

Virgin Atlantic is presently offering discounted fares to New York and Los Angeles - and Emirates is running a sale on several of its Asian and African destinations.

Low-cost carrier Flybe has launched a number of new services from Inverness Airport - as well as increasing the frequency of its Manchester to Isle of Man service - while Eastern Airways has launched a new service to the Norwegian city of Stavanger.

Amendments have also been made to Cityjet's London City Airport schedule, and Stansted Airport is now offering two new routes - an Aegean Airlines service to Athens and a Lithuanian Airlines connection to Vilnius.

Finally, easyJet has begun operating out of Manchester Airport following the completion of its takeover of GB Airways.
