Newcastle to Stavanger service launched
Eastern Airways has launched its first international service from Newcastle Airport today (May 12), offering non-stop flights to the Norwegian city of Stavanger.
The daily weekday service heads out of Newcastle at 9.50am, landing in Stavanger at 12.40pm, while the return flight leaves Norway at 1.10pm and arrives back in the North East of England at 2pm.
Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer, said: "We have provided travellers with a comprehensive network of domestic services from Newcastle for many years and our first non-stop international route from the airport links the vibrant north east with the European culture capital.
"Our convenient service is the fastest weekday transport link between the two cities, which will not only appeal to business travellers, particularly those in the oil and gas industry, but also visitors taking short breaks in both regions."
Eastern Airways had previously offered a link from the north east to Stavanger via Aberdeen, while passengers will now also benefit from a dedicated fast track security channel to avoid any queues.
The start of this new service comes soon after Eastern Airways announced an increase in flights on its Newcastle services to Aberdeen, Southampton and Cardiff, with the airline also offering links to Birmingham and the Isle of Man from Newcastle.
