Jet2.com launches Christmas NY flights
May 8, 2008Jet2.com has announced that it will be operating new services to New York’s Newark airport in the run-up to the Christmas period.
The low-cost carrier is trialling the route with a service running two departures in November (6 and 13) and two in December (4 and 11), with the possibility of increasing its frequency if demand calls for it.
No other airline currently operates a service from Leeds Bradford Airport to New York Newark airport.
Jet2holidays managing director Richard Bodin said that the Newark route was just the first of a number of connections slated for its as-yet unannounced winter schedule.
"We have a long list of potential destinations including sporting, religious and cultural events," he commented. TTG revealed that Lapland will be the next destination to be announced.
Bodin continued: "We are launching with Christmas shopping breaks as our research suggested this was the one thing most people tend to recommend to friends as a must-do first experience, and something they tend to repeat."
