BA launches new Hyderabad route

British Airways is to begin operating a new service to Hyderabad from London Heathrow.

From October 28, the UK's national carrier will be flying to the Indian city five times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The new service will depart from Hyderabad at 7.30am local time, landing at London Heathrow at 1pm GMT. On the return journey it will leave the UK at 1.30pm GMT, arriving at 4.25am local time the following morning.

It is the sixth Indian route now operated by BA, with existing services already running to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai.

A spokesperson for the airline commented: "Introducing Hyderabad as the next destination in India is to re-emphasise our commitment to the Indian market. We are focusing on providing better facilities and a wider worldwide network to our customers from India."

No other airlines currently fly direct to Hyderabad from London.
