Monarch launches Gatwick winter schedule
April 28, 2008
Low-cost airline Monarch has unveiled its new winter schedule from London Gatwick.
The new timetable will see the carrier double its services to the Canary Islands of Tenerife and Lanzarote, as well as expanding services to numerous other Spanish hotspots.
During the winter season there will now be up to seven weekly flights to Tenerife, up to five to Lanzarote, and as many as 11 connections to both Alicante and Malaga.
Monarch is also expanding its Gatwick connection to Murcia by offering up to five flights per week, including new services departing on Sunday and Tuesday.
Commenting on the launch of the new schedule, spokesperson Liz Savage said the airline was "delighted" to publish details ahead of any of its competitors.
"Our customers continue to prefer our low fare, more care offer," Savage declared. "Having more than doubled our services to Tenerife and Lanzarote, coupled with additional services to Murcia [and] the first winter operation of our popular Gatwick-Larnaca route … we are ideally positioned to meet the needs of our passengers."
