Birmingham gets first easyJet route
December 14, 2007EasyJet has launched its first ever route from Birmingham International Airport today (December 14) with a winter ski flight to Geneva.
The addition of Birmingham to the easyJet network brings the total number of airports now served by the airline in Europe to 79, and is its fourteenth in the UK.
With one-way fares starting from £22.99, the daily service to Geneva will offer winter sports fans the chance to reach many Alpine resorts.
David Osborne, easyJet UK general manager, said: "This is an exciting day for easyJet as we launch services from Birmingham International Airport for the very first time. This new route from Birmingham to Geneva is great news for the region's travellers who can take advantage of easyJet's famously low fares this winter from their local airport."
Later this month easyJet will also launch a new flight to Grenoble from Birmingham and the airline expects to carry around 45,000 passengers on the two routes during the first season of operation.
