New Virgin microsite offers virtual tour of Heathrow T3 check-in
Long-haul airline Virgin Atlantic has launched a mini website offering customers a virtual tour of its new check-in facilities at Heathrow Terminal 3.
Produced by The Juice Group, the microsite at www.virginatlantic.com/experienceT3 features several different virtual tours, demonstrating the check-in experience for Upper Class (business class), premium economy and economy.
With graphics similar to those seen in the Second Life online world, the Upper Class tour demonstrates the new Upper Class Wing, which features its own dedicated security channel and promises the world's fastest check-in.
The premium economy and economy tours take the viewer on a journey through the new facilities in Zone A, which will be opened in December. It will include a brighter and more spacious area with check-in kiosks, as well as Virgin Atlantic staff on hand.
Becky Struthers, the airline's customer communications marketing manager, said: "Through interactive online demos and movies clips we have created a unique experience for all passengers which not only gives them a realistic view of the new experience but will also act as an educational tool for passengers before they reach the airport."
It is expected that eight out of ten Virgin Atlantic passengers will either check in online or via a kiosk by the end of next year.
The following destinations are offered by Virgin from Heathrow Terminal 3: Boston, Cape Town, Chicago O'Hare, Delhi, Dubai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Lagos, Los Angeles, Miami, Mumbai, Nairobi, New York JFK, New York Newark, Port Louis, San Francisco, Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo, Washington.
