BA launches new routes from London airports
November 26, 2007
British Airways has announced plans to launch new routes from London City Airport, London Heathrow and London Gatwick next year.
The airline's subsidiary, BA CityFlyer, will commence a service between the Docklands airport and Nice next March, with flights to Amsterdam, Barcelona and Warsaw to follow in May. At the same time the carrier announced an increased frequency for its London City Airport to Zurich service, with five flights a day to the Swiss destination from next year.
Peter Simpson, BA CityFlyer's managing director, said: "The introduction of four new routes increases our flying by 32 per cent and firmly endorses our commitment to London City Airport.
"We have listened to what our customers have to say about where they want to fly and have hopefully delivered that with these new services and the improved schedule."
Flights from Heathrow to Malaga, and from Gatwick to Alicante, Faro, Gibraltar, Ibiza, Malaga, Palma and Tunis will start flying from March 30, 2008. At the current time, these routes are operated by franchise airline GB Airways, whose agreement with BA will come to an end in March.
The Heathrow to Malaga route will fly daily, as will the Gatwick to Alicante, Gibraltar, Palma and Ibiza (from June, 2008) routes. The Gatwick to Faro route will have 13 flights per week, Gatwick to Malaga will be twice daily and Gatwick to Tunis will be five times per week.
However, BA will suspend its flights from Gatwick to Aberdeen, Nice, Prague, Reykjavik and Split, and from London City to Milan Malpensa.

I recently read in the Sunday Times that a new flight from Gatwick to Poznan (Poland) is to be commenced from March 30, 2008. However, I can find no reference to this in your website. Please advise.
Thank you

Dear Michael,
British Airways announced a few months ago that it plans to commence a route to Poznan in March. You can see more information at Links to Poland and Turkey launched by BA.
