New smart way to book with Germanwings

Germanwings has launched a new service for passengers to book multi-leg flights.

Travellers using Smart Connect will only need to book one ticket for their entire journey, which the carrier has said will be cheaper than the cost of two separate tickets.

Previously, those people flying with Germanwings had to book a ticket for each leg of their journey.

Now with the new service they will, for example, be able to fly from London Stansted to Munich via Cologne with just one ticket, not two as before.

A statement on the airline's website reads: "You start your journey from your local airport, change planes in Cologne, Stuttgart or Berlin onto a second Germanwings Airbus and then fly on to your destination. Changing planes is easy, quick and secure - typically Germanwings."

The low-cost airline expects to attract nearly 80,000 more passengers thanks to the simpler and cheaper service.

Passengers are reminded that they will still have to re-check their luggage when on a one-stop flight.
