BA adds eighth London to New York JFK daily
British Airways has increased its flight schedule between London and New York, with an extra daily service from Heathrow to John F Kennedy Airport.
BA now flies to JFK eight times daily, and to the New York metropolitan area eleven times a day (with three additional flights to Newark).
The new flight, BA173, will depart Heathrow at 6.55pm, touching down in New York at 9.35pm. On the way back, flight BA172 will leave the Big Apple at 8am and arrive back in London at 7.45pm the same day.
It will operate on a Boeing 777 with four classes – First, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller.
JFK Airport is located in Queens, in south-eastern New York City, and is widely considered to be the primary air passenger gateway to the United States.
The newly-built AirTran service allows passengers to connect with the New York subway and rail systems. Alternatively, taxis offer a flat rate of $45 (£23) from the airport to Manhattan.
British Airways operates from its own terminal (Terminal 7) at JFK – the only foreign carrier to do so.
