GB Airways adds sunshine hotspots to network
September 26, 2006GB Airways, British Airways' franchise partner, is to launch three new seasonal routes from London next May.
The airline will start flying from London Heathrow to Faro and from Gatwick to Corfu and Mykonos.
Flights from Heathrow to Faro will operate daily from May 1 to October 28, with one-way fares starting at £65 including taxes.
The service to Corfu will operate Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between May 4 and October 28. One-way tickets will start at £65 with taxes.
GB Airways’ flights to Mykonos will operate twice a week (Thursdays and Sundays) between May 3 and October 26. One-way fares will start at £69 including taxes.
Kevin Hatton, Managing Director of GB Airways, said: “These new flights add key destinations to our network. Faro is important for leisure passengers and a gateway to the ever-increasing second home market in the Algarve.
“These are the first full service scheduled flights to Corfu and Mykonos from the UK and open the islands up to the independent traveller who books their own flight on the internet as well as those customers who travel with our tour operator partners.”
The flights to Corfu and Mykonos become the third and fourth Greek islands served by GB Airways, having launched flights to Rhodes last year and Heraklion in 2004.
The airline already operates up to four daily flights to Faro from London Gatwick and a daily service to Madeira.
