Ryanair launches travel guides for download
August 1, 2006Low-cost airline Ryanair has launched a series of travel guides that can be downloaded free online.
The handy ten-page guides contain useful information about Ryanair destinations in the UK and Europe, including things to see and do, restaurants to visit and maps of the local area.
As well as breakdowns of cafes, bars and eateries updated every three months by local writers, the guides contain details of local transport, postal services, doctors, taxis and more.
The airline's head of communications, Peter Sherrard, commented: "Ryanair's passengers already enjoy the lowest fares and best punctuality in Europe and to make the most of their breaks we are now offering them free travel guides too.
"The colour guides are available in ten languages, include indexed maps and all the hottest tips."
With the increasing prevalence of online booking, features like Ryanair's travel guides are becoming more popular among airlines.
Monarch recently introduced an innovation on its website whereby customers can submit their own reviews of destinations or read reviews posted by the airline's staff.
Ryanair also announced today (August 1) that its passenger numbers for the first three months of 2006 increased by some 25 per cent year-on-year.
To download one of the guides, visit the Arrival Guides page on the the Ryanair site.
