Possible London to Serbia route from Wizz Air
July 3, 2006
Wizz Air could be about to add Serbia to its growing list of destinations offered from London.
The Polish/Hungarian airline offers cheap flights to many eastern European cities from the UK and has now applied for a license to fly from London to Serbia, Luchtzak Aviation reports.
"Normally an airline registered in one country (Hungary) flying from another (the UK) to another (Serbia) is not allowed," said Serbia's aviation board director. "However, the EU law states that this is very much allowed and we have signed the same law."
Serbia's capital Belgrade is likely to be the destination airport.
Wizz Air began operations soon after Poland and Hungary gained accession to the EU in 2004 and has been expanding consistently this year.
As well as beginning flights from London to the Slovenian capital Ljubljana in May, the airline announced that flights from Doncaster Sheffield's Robin Hood Airport would begin in September.

As I am a believer in cheap or more affordable flight prices I hope that Wizz Air will fly to Belgrade / Serbia soon. I am sure that there would be a large number of people flying there (JAT flights are full all the time) and hope to take my next trip to Belgrade with Wizz Air.

I, along with copious friends, colleagues and family members, would warmly welcome Serbia being added as a destination offered from London. It is about time that such an airline chipped into this market. Let's hope it happens soon!
