Wizz to Sweden from Budapest
May 23, 2006Low-cost airline Wizz Air is continuing to expand across eastern Europe with a new route from Budapest to Gothenburg in Sweden.
Flights will begin on September 19 and tickets, available now, cost from 299 Swedish Kroner (£22), including taxes and charges.
Wizz Air is the largest no-frills airline in central and eastern Europe and the new route will be the 18th destination offered from Budapest. The total number of links offered by the carrier to Sweden will total eight.
The company's chief executive officer, Jozsef Varadi, noted that Scandinavia had always been an important market for Wizz Air and would be a boon for travellers looking for cheap flights.
"We are looking forward to offering our low fares and outstanding customer experience to more and more travellers between Budapest and Gothenburg including all those who until now have been forced to use extremely expensive services by high-fare airlines," he said.
