Ryanair offers free flights
April 7, 2006Low cost airline Ryanair is offering a number of free flights on certain routes out of Ireland if travellers book before midnight tonight (Friday April 7).
However, the offer is limited to passengers who have expressed dissatisfaction with the level of service they have received from competitor Aer Lingus.
Specifically, you are only eligible if Aer Lingus has failed to respond to a letter of complaint within six weeks of writing or if baggage has been lost by the airline in the last year.
Passengers meeting these criteria are being urged to email Ryanair to take advantage of the offer.
Communications executive, Lorna Farren, explained that "even complaints from the Director of Consumer Affairs" are "routinely ignored" by Aer Lingus.
"So Ryanair is offering the thousands of long-suffering passengers that Aer Lingus has let down free flights and real customer service delivery," she added.
The offer includes flights from May 4 to June 30, but only applies to selected routes and excludes taxes and charges.
The free flights will take passengers from Dublin to a range of Irish, UK and European destinations, including Gatwick, Stansted, Aberdeen, Manchester, Cork, Salzburg and La Rochelle.

Have been waiting four weeks for details regarding travel credit. Twice waited 20 minutes on phone to find out why. Interesting point in your report saying passengers are urged to contact Ryanair by e mail - how/what address? Perhaps they should put their own house in order before worrying abiut Aer Lingus
