Monarch offers more flights to Algarve
March 30, 2006
UK airline Monarch is increasing its weekly flights from Gatwick to Faro for the peak summer season.
Three extra flights will take off on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between July 31 and September 1, after passenger demand for Faro increased by 60 per cent.
Managing director, Tim Jeans, said that more flights had already been introduced at Birmingham, Manchester and Luton airports, according to Euro Weekly News.
The Gatwick additions take the total number of Monarch flights from the airport to Portugal's sunny Algarve to 12.
In a separate announcement, Monarch said flights between Manchester and Mallorca would also be increased for the Easter holidays (see Easter flights boost from Monarch).
Other new routes from Monarch over the summer include one-way cheap flights from Birmingham to Menorca and Lanzarote, starting from £36.99 and £59.99 respectively. Both services begin in early May.
Monarch offers seats with six extra inches of legroom for a fee of £15.
