New budget hotels at Ryanair's Polish airports
A leading Polish hotel chain is planning to open budget hotels at most of the country's major airports.
Port Hotel is proposing to build two-star hotels at all Polish airports which will soon be served by Ryanair.
The budget airline already flies from London Stansted to Wroclaw and will begin flights to Bydgoszcz, Gdansk, Krakow, Lodz, Rzeszow and Szczecin from October 30.
New hotels at Bydgoszcz, Gdansk, Poznan and Wroclaw should be open by 2007, with hotels at the airline's other destinations also planned.
The hotel group currently owns a five-star hotel at Warsaw International Airport and is planning to open a cheaper two-star hotel at the airport in April 2006.
Ryanair is offering a fare sale on flights to its new Polish destinations, with tickets starting from £3.19.
Wizz Air also offers cheap flights from London Luton to Gdansk, Krakow and Poznan, as well as flights from Liverpool and Luton to the Polish capital, Warsaw. Ticket prices from London Luton to Poland start at £1.65 each-way and flights from Liverpool to Warsaw cost £5.99 each-way during November and December.
The new budget hotels will be popular with leisure and business travellers arriving late in Poland or looking to catch cheaper early morning flights back to the UK.
