London City Airport is celebrating the launch of a brand new twice daily connection to Geneva, courtesy of the city's very own airline, Baboo (website: flybaboo.com).
The first flight took off on Sunday (October 25), with one-way fares starting from just £51 and seats being sold via a codeshare agreement with Cityjet (website: cityjet.com).
London City chief executive Richard Gooding predicted that the new service would be welcomed by business-minded travellers based in the UK.
"The timing of the departures are perfectly scheduled for London City’s passengers to maximise their day in Geneva," he said. "The on-board product of the airline is excellent and we know it will be well-received by our passengers who demand a high level of service."
Mr Gooding went on to stress the time-saving advantages of flying from City Airport – as opposed to departing from busier airports further afield such as Heathrow.
Baboo chief executive Jacques Bankir added: "These flights also reinforce our partnerships and will be part of the near 600 weekly flight system offered by CityJet."
Irish-based CityJet is a fully-owned subsidiary of Air France / KLM. It recently purchased several Fokker 50 planes based at London City from VLM (website: flyvlm.com).
