Virgin entices fliers with John Lewis vouchers
September 3, 2009Virgin Atlantic is hoping to win over new leisure and business travellers by giving away vouchers for John Lewis stores to customers who book fully-flexible flights.
The transatlantic airline is shelling out £200 to people who book a return flight in Upper Class, while Premium Economy fliers will get £100 and Economy passengers £50.
To be eligible travellers must sign up to Virgin's frequent flyer programme, Flying Club.
Their journeys must also take place between September 5 and November 30, with the vouchers being redeemable at Waitrose as well as John Lewis stores.
Commenting on the promotion, Paul Dickinson, Virgin Sales and Marketing Director, said: "Travellers can now enjoy an even better return with our special John Lewis gift vouchers.
"As well as benefiting from the best service and entertainment in the sky, our passengers can now treat themselves to gifts from John Lewis, or extra food shopping from Waitrose."
This is not the first time Virgin has enticed fliers with retail giveaways. The airline previously offered Duty Free vouchers in a bid to encourage use of its online check-in service.
