Virgin Atlantic to offer visas via its website
September 22, 2009Virgin Atlantic customers can now organise travel documents for most destinations at the same time as they book their flights, thanks to a new partnership.
The airline has teamed up with CIBT, the largest provider of visa and passport services, to enable passengers to secure travel documents through VirginAtlantic.com.
Most countries in the world will be covered by the scheme, including China, India, Australia and several African nations that require visitors to carry visas.
Virgin spokesperson Dee Cooper predicted that the new facility would be welcomed by passengers, most of whom currently visit embassies in person to obtain the documents.
"Virgin Atlantic's aim is to provide our passengers with a seamless travel experience from the time of booking all the way through to them disembarking at their destination," she explained. "This means VirginAtlantic.com will be a one stop shop for all our passengers needs."
The airline also recently announced that it is giving away John Lewis vouchers to members of its frequent flyer programme when they place flexible bookings.
Customers who have joined the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club scheme can claim £25 on Economy seats, £50 on Premium Economy and £10 on Upper Class for flights up to November 30. The vouchers have no expiry date and can also be redeemed at Waitrose.
