England has qualified - book flights to South Africa now
September 11, 2009
Now that England has qualified for the World Cup, with games to spare, it's time to think about booking flights to South Africa.
The draw for the matches will take place on December 4. Until then, we won't know where England will be playing, but we do know that the final will take place in Johannesburg on Sunday, July 11. We're expecting to be there...
Nine cities in South Africa will host the matches - Polokwane, Nelspruit, Pretoria, Rustenburg, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Durban, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth - and getting from one city to another will present a challenge. The distances between the cities are vast.
Fans who do not intend booking a package deal with one of FIFA's official operators (Thomas Cook Sport, Thomson Sport (UK), Keith Prowse and BAC Sport) are advised to think about hiring a car to get from one city to another. The Fifa website has a handy calculator (www.fifa.com) that works out the distance between cities and the time it'll take to drive or fly.
