Scandinavian Airlines offers free Island Hopper card
July 1, 2009In a neat tie-up, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is offering a free Island Hopper card, worth £29, to travellers who book London-Stockholm flights for August and September trips.
The airline is offering flights from London Heathrow to Stockholm Arlanda Airport from £67 one-way including taxes and charges.
The Island Hopper card offers unlimited travel to more than 300 places in the Stockholm archipelago. The archipelago extends for 80km east of the Swedish capital - 30,000 islands, islets and rocks.
To get your hands on an Island Hopper card, book return flights to Stockholm. When you disembark your flights at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, head to the Visitor Centre in Terminal 5 and present your SAS ticket or itinerary. The Visitor Centre is open from 6am to midnight, seven days a week.
A small deposit is required - 40 SEK (converts to about £3). To get your deposit back, return the Island Hopper card at the boat company terminal. The Island Hopper card is valid for five days.
