Monarch adds flights to Larnaca from Birmingham
July 28, 2009Monarch Airlines has added a new winter service from Birmingham Airport to Larnaca in Cyprus.
The low-cost carrier will operate flights to the popular resort twice a week during its 2009/10 winter programme, with all-inclusive fares starting from just £64.99 one way.
Flights to Larnaca have been on offer at Birmingham since March, but the carrier had not previously planned to continue the service into winter.
Confirming the move, Liz Savage, Managing Director of Monarch Flights and Holidays, described the volume of summer bookings as an "overwhelming success".
"Over 12,500 seats have already been sold on the route this summer," she noted. "[That] is over half of the seats we have available, and we are delighted to be continuing flights this winter."
Monarch's new service joins a raft of other winter sun destinations at the West Midlands airport, including scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal.
