New Gatwick to Dusseldorf service takes off
June 29, 2009Low-cost carrier Flybe has begun operating a brand new connection between London Gatwick Airport and the German city of Dusseldorf.
The service will be operated three times a day on weekdays, daily on Saturdays, and twice daily on Sundays. Fares start from £34.99 one-way, including taxes.
Weekday flights depart from Gatwick Airport at 7.30am, 2pm and 6.30pm; with inbound services leaving Dusseldorf at 9.55am, 4.25pm and 8.55pm local time.
Commenting on the new route, Flybe spokesman Mike Rutter said: "Our new London Gatwick to Dusseldorf service is of great importance to both Flybe leisure and business passengers and we've been delighted with our customers' early support."
He added: "Flybe is gaining a reputation as an airline that bucks the trend in these challenging economic times and the early success of this route is a confident reflection in people seeking out the most affordable travel that also offers a quality service."
Earlier this month, Lufthansa Airlines announced the launch of a weekly connection between Dusseldorf and Newquay Cornwall Airport, with flights departing every Saturday.
