Aer Lingus cuts - flyers can take JetBlue, United to US cities
June 15, 2009Following Friday's story about Aer Lingus axing routes from Shannon Airport, the Irish flag carrier has now published full details of the service cuts that will take effect on October 25.
From Dublin Airport, flights to San Francisco and Washington will be suspended. However, Aer Lingus will serve these US cities via its other transatlantic routes with partner airlines JetBlue and United Airlines.
Flights from Shannon Airport to Boston will operate four days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday), down from seven per week.
The Irish airline has said it will be contacting passengers with forward bookings to offer alternative flights with JetBlue or United. Alternatively, Aer Lingus will offer refunds to those who do not wish to proceed with their bookings.
