Bmibaby charters Six Nations flights
April 22, 2009Rugby fans who want to support their team at next year's RBS Six Nations tournament can now fly to the games on one of several specially chartered bmibaby flights.
The low-cost carrier has added 14 additional services to its 2010 spring schedule, opening up links to Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh and Rome to coincide with key matches.
Six flights will be running between Edinburgh Airport and Cardiff Airport from February 12 to 14, shuttling Scottish supporters to and from the Millennium Stadium.
Another five services will bring Welsh fans to Dublin's Croke Park for their March 13 showdown with the Irish team, while individual return services will also cater for three more matches.
They are an outbound Edinburgh link to Rome, on February 27; a Birmingham to Edinburgh service, on March 13; and an Edinburgh to Dublin connection, on March 20.
"During the 2009 RBS Six Nations our flights filled up extremely quickly between Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast," bmibaby spokesman Julian Carr recalled. "As a result we have decided to offer additional unique flights during the RBS Six Nations 2010."
"The RBS 6 Nations is one of the most important events on the international rugby calendar and fans should book early to grab a flight at a fantastic fare."
