Wizz Air launches Prague route
January 12, 2009Wizz Air has announced that it will begin operating services from London Luton Airport to Prague International Airport from next month.
The central and eastern European carrier has disclosed its plans to enter the lucrative Czech market with four weekly flights departing from Luton airport to the cultural capital from February 19.
Fares will begin from as low as £9 one-way thanks to a special promotional offer and available for sale on the carrier's website and via a special call centre. Jozsef Varadi, chief executive of Wizz Air, welcomed the announcement as a sign of the airline's continued expansion.
He said: "Wizz Air's opening of the Prague market is a logical and well timed step of the airline's expansion in Central and Eastern Europe."
Wizz Air is a Hungarian budget airline that operates services to 32 European destinations from ten operational bases.
