Monarch announces Volos schedule
January 12, 2009 Monarch Airlines has announced that it will begin to operate services between the UK and the Greek city of Volos this summer.
The regional airline, which is based in Luton, disclosed that it will begin to offer weekly flights from London Gatwick Airport and Manchester Airport to the Greek port every Friday between May 15 and October 9, 2009.
Fares to the city on the shores of the Pagasitikos Gulf will start from £239 return including all taxes and charges.
Volos, which is often considered as one of the best places to eat seafood throughout Greece, is located at the foot of Mount Pelion and provides a bridge between Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Monarch Airlines, which was founded in 1967, also offers passengers the opportunity to fly to around 100 destinations throughout Europe, the US, India, the Caribbean and Africa.
