Flyglobespan reviews Durham flights
January 2, 2009Flyglobespan is set to conduct a review of its services departing from Durham Tees Valley Airport this month.
The budget airline's lease at the airport is approaching its end, which is placing the future of services to Alicante, Benidorm and Tenerife at risk, The Northern Echo has reported.
Rick Green, Flyglobespan's chief executive, offered no guarantees that the carrier would be continuing its operations at Durham beyond January.
He told The Northern Echo: "For us, we make the decision on the economics of a new plane, the market and demand, as we know the world is in financial meltdown."
Flyglobespan currently conducts flights from nine airports across the UK and Ireland to 24 destinations in Europe, North America and north Africa.
