Flybe extends Guernsey service
January 26, 2009Flybe has announced that it will begin operating an additional sixth service on its London Gatwick Airport to Guernsey Airport schedule.
The British regional airline has disclosed that from June 9, passengers will be able to take advantage of an afternoon flight to the island in the English Channel, which departs London's second busiest airport at 3.30pm and arrives in Guernsey at 4.30pm.
One-way fares on the routes begin from as little as £29.99, including all taxes and surcharges and can be ordered immediately.
Mike Rutter, Flybe's chief commercial officer, suggested that this announcement is a "testament" to the airline's "established services".
He said: "While other airlines are abandoning their services to the Channel Islands, we’re bucking the economic trend and showing our commitment to Guernsey by increasing the number of flights a day on this key route."
Guernsey is situated 30 miles west of France's Normandy coastline and lies in the Gulf of St Malo.
