Ryanair set to launch new Spanish routes
November 18, 2008Ryanair will today (November 18) announce the launch of services from London Gatwick Airport to Alicante and Girona, TravelMole has claimed.
The online travel industry community has learned that the low-cost carrier will reveal the addition of the flights to its winter schedule.
Ryanair, which currently operates 166 airports on 729 routes across Europe and North Africa, is set to hold a press conference later today to publically confirm the expansion.
It is believed that one of the Irish airline's Dublin routes from Gatwick will be dropped to make way for the new routes.
In other Ryanair news, Durham Tees Valley Airport has disclosed that the carrier is cutting its Alicante service from the airport from mid-December, for the remainder of the winter.
Ryanair is currently the third largest airline in Europe in terms of passenger numbers, with its largest operational bases as London Stansted Airport and Dublin International Airport.
