Ryanair announces two new Gatwick routes
November 21, 2008Ryanair will launch two new London Gatwick Airport routes to Spanish destinations from December 18.
Europe's largest low-cost carrier has revealed that it will begin operating a daily route from Gatwick to Barcelona Giron and a twice daily service to Alicante, which will increase the number of routes Ryanair operates from the airport to five.
To celebrate this introduction, Ryanair has released 500,000 free seats for travel throughout Europe in December, January and February, which will be available until midnight tonight (November 21).
Michael O'Leary, chief executive of Ryanair, expressed his delight at unveiling the two new routes.
He said: "In 2009 Ryanair will bring its guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharges to 65 million passengers."
Ryanair's largest operational bases are currently at Dublin International Airport and London Stansted Airport and the carrier now operates 166 aircraft on 729 schedules across Europe and North Africa.
