BA gives passengers 'more comfort'
November 21, 2008British Airways will be improving the comfort and privacy of its Club Europe customers from February 2009, by removing the use of the middle seat.
Business class customers of BA's Club Europe cabin will be guaranteed a window or aisle seat, while their ability to work or rest onboard will be improved.
The full range of Club Europe services will be maintained, including extra legroom in a comfortable leather seat; a choice of hot and cold refreshments and a complimentary bar.
Robert Boyle, commercial director at BA, said: "We've listened to customer feedback and taken the decision to leave the middle seat unoccupied to give our customers that extra privacy and sense of personal space."
This redesign has been prompted by feedback from existing customers, as the UK's flag carrier faces stiff competition from Lufthansa - which hired its first ever British chef earlier this week.
