Wizz Air unveils new Romanian connection
October 7, 2008
Wizz Air is to launch a new Romanian connection from Luton Airport as part of ongoing expansion to its European network.
From October 27th, the Hungarian low-cost carrier will begin operating a thrice-weekly service from the London airport to the western city of Timisoara.
It will also increase the frequency of its services to Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest, operating six and ten flights respectively each week.
The airline is doubling its capacity in Romania in line with a wider initiative to strengthen its presence across the continent.
The growth of its route network follows the delivery of three new A320 aircraft, which will also be deployed on a further 14 routes operating out of the three Romanian cities.
"This expansion is a major step forward for us to gain and sustain market leadership in Romania," affirmed chief executive Jozsef Varadi.
"Wizz Air operates the youngest and most modern fleet at significantly lower costs than any of the other airlines in the country and that enables us to provide the lowest fares to travellers."
