Ryanair suspends new Dusseldorf services
October 2, 2008Ryanair has announced that it has been forced to suspend its new flights to Dusseldorf.
The low-cost airline revealed yesterday (October 1) that the operation of 11 routes to the German city will be postponed due to strike action at Boeing.
The strike has delayed the delivery of new aircraft and as such 20 return services to and from Dusseldorf have been affected.
Passengers due to fly on October 27, 28 and 29 will receive full refunds from Ryanair.
Michael Cawley, Ryanair's chief executive, assured travellers that the disruption to the new services will only be temporary.
He revealed that aircraft had been secured for the operation of the flights from October 30.
Mr Crawley said: "I hope passengers understand that it is due to circumstances over which we have no control and I hope to see these passengers onboard one of these exciting new services soon."
Ryanair is due to fly to Dusseldorf from Birmingham, Manchester and Dublin.
