Loganair announces increased baggage allowance
October 10, 2008Loganair (website: www.loganair.co.uk) is to increase its free baggage allowance on all flights from October 26 onwards.
The Scottish regional airline is making the move in response to customer feedback, with a majority of its passengers calling for lower fees on carrying bags.
For a trial period, it will increase the hold baggage allowance for individual pieces of luggage from 15 kg to 20 kg.
The company said in a statement that it will assess the impact of the change before making a decision at a later date over whether or not to prolong it indefinitely.
The increased allowance will apply to all flights, including codeshare services that incorporate onward connections with partner no-frills airline Flybe.
The only exception is for passengers who transfer to a flight with BA. They will enjoy an even higher allowance of 23 kg, in keeping with that airline's standard policy.
An excess baggage charge of £10 applies for any piece of hold luggage that exceeds the new higher limit.
