Jet2.com drops Barcelona route, but starts two others
October 2, 2008Low-cost operator Jet2.com has said it will be ending its Belfast to Barcelona service, but will start new routes to both Croatia and Cornwall.
The airline, which operates from Belfast International, will end its Barcelona service on October 26 and has said any passengers with existing bookings will be able to change to flights to other destinations, or receive a full refund.
The route to the Croatian city of Dubrovnik will start on May 2, and the service to Newquay will start on May 24, with Jet2.com saying the expansion of its timetable will create an additional 50 jobs.
Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2.com, said: "These are exciting times for us and, unlike other airlines which are grounding planes due to hard times, we are expanding our range of destinations and are planning to increase our overall capacity from Northern Ireland."
