BA announces new service to St Kitts and Nevis
October 8, 2008British Airways has confirmed that it will start flying to the two-island nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis early next year.
The flag carrier is to begin operating a weekly service to the tiny West Indies nation from London Gatwick Airport on January 10.
BA is already the airline with the most flights to the Caribbean and its new route comes alongside a raft of other schedule changes.
Under the revised timetable, flights from Heathrow Airport to Dubai are to increase from 14 to 20 each week as of March 29.
On May 1, meanwhile, the national carrier will boost the frequency of its weekly services to Johannesburg, raising the number of outbound flights from 14 to 19.
Commenting on the new Caribbean addition, BA spokesman Adam Daniels said: "This new route to St Kitts underlines our commitment both to the Caribbean and Gatwick, and re-establishes a connection between the UK and the island.
"The introduction of Saint Kitts as a British Airways route means that we now operate to 11 destinations in the Caribbean - the region is performing extremely well for us."
