New routes and increased frequency from BA
September 19, 2008British Airways is to start two new routes to the Alps and increase the frequency of other services it offers from London City Airport.
From December 15, passengers will be able to take advantage of new winter snow destinations to both Geneva and Lyon, direct from the Docklands airport.
Before then, in October, British Airways will increase its daily frequency to Glasgow from four to five flights a day, with a new departure from London City leaving at 6.50am and a return service heading out of Glasgow at 8.10pm.
In addition to this Frankfurt services will increase from three to four flights a day.
Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager with BA CityFlyer, the wholly owned British Airways subsidiary airline which operates flights from London City Airport, said: "We are responding directly to a growing demand from our customers for winter only ski flights from London City and are delighted to offer two of the most popular destinations.
"In addition we have also responded to our business customers and introduced additional flights on key business routes. Passengers flying to Glasgow particularly will now be able to spend a full business day in the city and return home at night."
Fully inclusive one-way fares to Geneva and Lyon start at £65 and are available to book on www.ba.com
