In-flight entertainment upgrade for Emirates
August 8, 2008Emirates has updated its advanced in-flight entertainment system for passengers in all cabins, ABTN reports.
Regardless of whether you are flying in economy, business or first class, the carrier now offers more than 1,200 channels of content on individual back-seat screens.
Having already allowed travellers to choose when to stop and start video, the new system adds a new level of functionality through a host of innovative features.
One example is the ability to plug a USB storage stick into the screens, allowing passengers to save the position of their programme and resume from that point during the return journey.
Another impressive innovation is the music singles catalogue, which enables listeners to trawl through decades of chart-topping songs to find tunes from their favourite era.
And in premium cabins the service is enhanced still further, with back-seat screens growing from an already-impressive 10.6in in economy to 17in in club and a colossal 23in in first.
"Consumers are becoming more demanding as their product knowledge is increasing," Emirates spokesman Patrick Brannelly asserted. "To be in the game you have to get everything right."
