New Gatwick to Biarritz service from easyJet
July 4, 2008EasyJet has launched a new service from London Gatwick Airport to the French seaside resort of Biarritz.
The low-cost carrier will be flying to the popular south-western town four times a week, with flights departing on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
One-way fares start from just £25.99, including taxes, and easyJet says it expects upwards of 10,000 passengers to take advantage of the new connection during its first year of operation.
Biarritz is situated on the Bay of Biscay and has been dubbed the 'Monte Carlo of the Atlantic' on account of its glorious hot summers and 18th-century architectural splendour.
EasyJet spokesman David Osborne commented: "Biarritz is already a popular destination from other easyJet bases and now travellers from Gatwick have the opportunity to explore one of the most popular destinations on the west coast of France."
He added: "Forward bookings for the route have been strong, which further proves the demand for affordable flights to the sun this summer."
