Thomsonfly dominates Tenerife route
June 16, 2008
Thomsonfly has been officially recognised as the most popular carrier servicing the Spanish resort of Tenerife.
Figures released by airport regulator ANEA show that between November 2007 and March 2008 more than nine per cent of the nearly 2.4 million people who visited the Canary island used Thomsonfly.
In total some 209,645 British sun-seekers flew into the resort with the low-cost carrier, amounting to the largest proportion for any airline.
Thomsonfly spokesman Guy Stephenson, commented: "Thomsonfly flies to Tenerife from more UK departure points than any other airline and this convenience - coupled with great prices on flights and hotels - mean UK residents can be in the sunshine at low expense and with little hassle, explaining why it's the number one winter choice."
The other airlines making it into the top ten list of Tenerife bound carriers were Condor Flugdienst, Hapag Lloyd Express, Air Berlin, Monarch Airlines, Spanair, Thomas Cook Airlines, Air Europa, Mytravel and GB Airways.
Thomsonfly currently operates direct services to the Spanish resort from 18 UK airports, with one-way fares starting from just £59.99 including all taxes and charges.
