EasyJet launches new East Midlands to Palma route
February 7, 2008
EasyJet today (February 7) launched its new service between East Midlands Airport and Palma de Mallorca.
The service will operate three-times weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until April 12, when its frequency will increase to daily.
To celebrate the launch, the budget airline is offering one-way fares from £22.99 (including taxes), while return journeys are available from £35.35.
Welcoming the inaugural flight of the new service, easyJet UK general manager David Osborne claimed that the destination had a broad appeal, with the airline hoping to carry 100,000 passengers on the route in the next year.
"Palma is a favourite destination for families looking to explore the island of Mallorca, as well as a popular city break destination," he said.
Palma is the tenth route to be operated by easyJet from East Midlands Airport, with the destinations currently served including Barcelona, Faro and Prague.
