Eastern Airways cuts fares on new services
February 21, 2008Eastern Airways has announced plans to celebrate the increased frequency of flights on many of its routes with the introduction of new discounted fares.
One-way fares will be available from £49 (including taxes, fees and charges) on six of the eight routes that are set to benefit from more daily flights from March 3.
The routes offering the new discounted fares are Aberdeen to Newcastle, Southampton and Leeds Bradford; Newcastle to Southampton and Cardiff; and Southampton to Leeds Bradford.
Commenting on the new low cost tickets, Eastern's chief operating officer Chris Holliday said: "There are no additional costs for preferred seats or hold luggage, however we do advise passengers to book early to benefit from these fares."
In addition to the routes above, March 3 will also see the airline increase the daily frequency on its Newcastle to Stavanger route, while the Southampton to Angers Loire will benefit from an increased weekly service.
Eastern also plans to increase the capacity of flights between Newcastle and both Aberdeen and Southampton with the use of larger, 50-seat aircraft.
